What is Online PR?

Online PR is often used to describe what I would call 2 seperate disciplines:

  • Building and Maintaining Media Relationships to ensure press releases and your news and brand get to the right places on the internet
  • Online Reputation Management - Regular monitoring of the internet to keep abreast of what people are saying about you and responding to it
On this page I will be referring to the first of those 2 disciplines.

 

Online Content Providers

The internet is maturing. Content is once again king as the media giants take over the biggest sites on the internet, and the computer giants do the same in reverse - for example Microsoft bought American Media Giant NBC some time ago.

What does this mean to businesses? It means that as people browse websites, like they do magazines, there are opportunities to advertise, but also to provide content for these websites with regular news feeds and updates.

We keep abreast of the developments in the online media environment and seek out websites that are suitable for our clients. We optimise press releases with keywords and make sure they get to the right places.
